Coming south to Devon along M4 motorway:
- Take M5 south to J27 and turn off on to A361 to Barnstaple/Bideford/Bude (1 hour from intersection)
- Go round Barnstaple ringroad on to A39 to Bideford/Bude
- Proceed past Bideford, through villages of Fairy Cross, Horns Cross, past large thatched pub called Hoops
- Turn sharp right at crossroads post office of village of Bucks Cross (if you have gone to Clovelly Cross you have overshot!)
- Go carefully down single track windy lane as far as you can go (there is a sharp left turn beyond the public car park) to the tiny village square overlooking sea.
- Unload car, into The Old Mill - house to left as you drive into square
- You will then have to turn car and squeeze parking into laneway above (no parking in the square)
