Clovelly is rightly regarded as one of the most beautiful villages in England (listed thus in the AA book on British villages).
Privately owned there is a charge for entering the village (unless you approach via the clifftop walk - see under Walks). And it can become quite touristy at busy times.
But it is a remarkable Victorian creation with its cobbled street going down to the picturesque harbour and the Red Lion pub. Very much a "must see" if you can catch it at a quiet time.
